Preparing the tea
Recipe 1.- By P. Mac Pherson (UK)
Within 20 minutes or so after a cup of this tea, I begin to feel a sense of well being. I feel both relaxed and energetic at the same time. It helps a lot with my bowel pain and regulates BMs It also helps me focus, in spite of my adult atention defecit disorder. I need very little of my prescription medication when I drink this tea. It is almost too good to be true! I pack a tea pot somewhat firmly with leaves, fill with water and bring to a boil then let simmer for 20 minutes. This makes a dark concentrate that I then refrigerate. I dilute an ounce or two of this with water for the desired strength and sweeten with sugar. I recommend you start with a light amber colored solution at first - This is very powerful tea. One cup at 8:00 AM, another at 2:00 PM works best for me. I don't drink any after 5:00 PM as it may keep me awake that night.
Recipe 2.- By Benoit G. (France)
This recipe is very good, warming and stimulating, perfect for cold winter days. The amount of leaves to use depends on taste, I would 15 grams ( 15 teabags) for one liter is a good base. Surprisingly the taste doesn't vary much with more coca.
- take one liter of red wine ( I use Bordeaux wine)
- add 4 teaspoons of brown sugar ( to taste)
- 4 sticks of cinnamon
- one tablespoonful of grated ginger
- 4 cardamom pods
- 4 star anise seed pods (badian anis)
- 5 cloves
- 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- a dash of liquor, say, brandy, or cognac, or even a little rum or whiskey ( to taste)
- half a sliced orange or two tablespoons of orange juice
- a tablespoon of lemon juice or a lemon peel
- 15 grams of coca leaves
Put wine, coca and spices and orange + lemon in a pot and stir. Put pot on a gentle heat while stiring for a few minutes, then bring to a boil for a few seconds, then bring the heat down to barely simmering. Add the sugar and liquor. Cover and let sit for 5 minutes, then serve in mugs, filtering with a strainer. Enjoy !
